A behind-the-scenes film from the shoot of “Broken Leg”, the Sky × Amazon commercial for the Sky Glass TV, filmed in Bulgaria. Branded produced, directed, shot and edited it.
“Broken Leg” is a 2022 Sky × Amazon TV commercial for Sky Glass, Sky’s voice-controlled TV. Looking for something to watch with his partner, who has a broken leg, Ben travels through the worlds of Jack Reacher, The Wheel of Time and A Discovery of Witches with the help of visual effects, without leaving the living room.
The commercial was made for the UK, Germany and Italy and filmed in Bulgaria. Our behind-the-scenes film shows the set, the production design, the crew and the work behind it.
The film is entirely Branded’s work: production, directing, camera and edit. We were part of the shoot from the first day to the last and worked side by side with the main crew, following each day’s schedule and staying where the key moments happened.
The commercial takes its characters from the living room into the worlds of big TV series, so we followed in detail how those worlds were made: the set builds, costumes and make-up, the lighting and the preparation of every scene for the visual effects. We filmed the teams at work and how each world gradually came to life on set.
So the behind-the-scenes film tells the whole story of the production: the people, the kit and the precision it takes to make a commercial for three European markets in Bulgaria. The full version runs 4 minutes 16 seconds.
As on every campaign, we worked under a non-disclosure agreement and filmed around the main unit without holding up a single take.
